A new challenger arrived to my doorstep... an MSI Wind, which is a beautifuly designed tiny netbook build around the new Intel Atom processor.
It has impressive specs:
- Intel Atom N270 cpu
- 8.9" Wide Screen Display
- Big-Size (well, bigger that the one on the 900) Keyboard and Touch Pad
- Hard Drive (80 GB)
- Webcam, Wifi (802.11b/g), and Bluetooth
Apart from the OS (Windows) it offers everything whatever I need, but the two most important ones... connectivity (wifi and BT) and a hard drive.
Unfortunatelly it came presinstalled with MS XP, but shortly after unpacking and charging Kubuntu was blinking from the screen happily... :)
There is comprehensive info about installing (K)ubuntu on the Wind, MSI Wind Wiki.
In general, the MSIWind.net offers similar content, information, knowledge base, forum, etc for the MSI Wind netbook... as the eeeuser.com for the EeePC.
The only real downside of this little machine is the 3 cell battery, which gives around 2 hours power on the road... according to information from MSI, a 6 cell one is on the way.
