Internet:

Firefox - browser (installed by default)

Epiphany Webkit - browser based on Webkit (apt-get install epiphany-webkit)

Pidgin - chat client (installed)

gFtp - ftp client (apt-get install gftp)

HSOconnect - HSDPA/3G connect software (detailed install instructions)

Gnome-ppp - dial up program (apt-get install gnome-ppp)

Multimedia:

VLC - media player (apt-get install vlc)

SMPlayer - media player (apt-get install smplayer)

Others:

Alacarte - menu editor (installed by default, but does not have a menu entry)

mtPaint - simple picture editor (apt-get install mtpaint)
